OperationsCalculate OEE from availability, ideal-cycle performance, and first-pass quality.
OperationsA building may have nominal pallet positions that are blocked or unavailable. A shift may contain breaks, planned downtime, or tasks outside picking. Capacity calculations are meaningful only when available time and usable capacity match the work being measured. Distinguish physical free space, target headroom, theoretical output, and effective output.
A daily average can hide congestion around a dispatch cutoff or a burst of inbound trucks. The slowest process can constrain the whole flow even when other stations have spare capacity. Use these tools to expose assumptions and compare scenarios, then check sequencing, variability, skills, equipment, and safe operating requirements. A calculated headcount or floor area is not permission to exceed an engineering or staffing constraint.
