BEHIND THE NUMBER
How the calculation works
Enter one row per physical package with a unique package_id. Contents may describe several items within that package. All weights and dimensions are metric; gross weight must be at least net weight. Different unit-of-measure quantities are not added into a misleading total. Package dimensions are also retained in the PDF.
Package volume (m3) = length_cm x width_cm x height_cm / 1,000,000; shipment totals = sum(package weights and volumes)
When this calculation helps
A packing list should reconcile the physical packages, their contents, and gross weights. Use the same shipment references as the associated commercial and transport documents.
Check the interpretation
Package-level weights must not be multiplied again as though they were individual item weights. Review actual loaded quantities and packaging changes before issue. This worksheet is not a customs declaration, carrier booking, or signed proof that goods were received.
This is a general preparation template, not customs clearance, a tax invoice certification, a bill of lading, or legal advice. Confirm destination-specific fields, classification, values, terms, currency precision, and required declarations before issuing. No signature, license, or ownership assertion is generated.
