Orders trigger strictly below minimum. MOQ and pack rounding apply only to a triggered order.
The trigger is strictly below the minimum; equality does not trigger an order. A triggered order first covers the gap to maximum, then applies the minimum order quantity and rounds up to the pack multiple. These constraints can push the resulting inventory position above maximum. A negative starting position represents demand exceeding usable and eligible inbound stock.
A min/max policy uses an inventory-position trigger and a target level. The replenishment quantity closes the gap to that target under the selected policy, rather than automatically repeating a fixed batch.
Confirm which commitments, backlog, and incoming orders belong in inventory position. Minimum order quantities and multiples can create stock above the target. Check feasible delivery timing and shelf life before accepting the proposed quantity.
Enter only supply and demand eligible within the same planning horizon. This is a single-item policy check, not a dated availability plan. It does not calculate the minimum or maximum, split orders, or impose a maximum order size.
Oracle min-max planningThis tool orders only when position is below the minimum. At the minimum, it reports no order. Set and communicate this boundary consistently with your planning system.
A supplier minimum or whole-pack multiple can increase the order above the raw gap. The result shows that excess explicitly; it does not silently cap the order and violate the entered constraints.
