Measure inventory turns and average days in inventory.
PerformanceMeasure delivery reliability without double-counting misses.
PerformanceCheck cube and payload headroom before booking a load.
PerformanceMeasure immediate units supplied and completely filled orders.
PerformanceMeasure observed pick lines per paid and net labor hour.
PerformanceCompare exact cycle-count matches with matches inside an agreed tolerance.
PerformanceMeasure orders passing all four fulfillment checks together.
PerformanceSeparate a stock-value shortfall from an overage on a consistent basis.
PerformanceDistinguish output against design capacity from effective capacity.
PerformanceEstimate backlog recovery only when throughput exceeds new arrivals.
PerformanceOTIF, fill rate, perfect order, inventory accuracy, and quality percentages measure different things. Define the orders, units, records, or positions assessed, and apply the same inclusion rules to each period. A combined success rate requires an observed intersection; multiplying separate percentages does not reconstruct it. Record exclusions so an improved result is not merely a changed denominator.
A utilization increase may signal improved use of resources or growing congestion. High inventory turnover can coexist with stockouts. Separate a measurement from an explanation, and compare rates with workload, timing, service, and data quality. These tools calculate entered observations; they do not select a universal benchmark. Follow a surprising change back to the source transactions before rewarding, penalizing, or redesigning a process.
