Tolerance is agreed and applied before entering counts. This is not net unit accuracy or inventory value variance.
A record is one consistently defined SKU-location-lot balance, including unit of measure where relevant. Accepted records include exact matches, so accepted count cannot be lower than exact count. Assess every record against your documented count tolerance before entering the totals. This reports how many records pass, not how closely aggregate units net to zero.
Inventory record accuracy evaluates the records or counted units in the specified comparison. Use a consistent counting tolerance and clearly identify the population that was actually checked.
A high record pass rate can hide a large value variance in a small number of expensive SKUs. Investigate location, unit-of-measure, transaction timing, and stock-status differences before concluding that an apparent discrepancy is physical loss.
The tool does not inspect raw stock counts or set a tolerance. Exclude uncounted records and use the same recount policy and approved tolerance across the cohort. Unit accuracy and inventory-value variance require different calculations.
Yes. If 470 records match exactly and 15 additional records pass the approved tolerance, enter 485 as accepted within tolerance.
Not in this record-match measure. Each record is classified separately. Netting unit differences across records can hide errors and is not used here.
