BEHIND THE NUMBER

How the calculation works

Each CSV line is a commodity group. Weight is the total gross weight of that line, including pallets or packaging, not a per-piece amount. NMFC reference and class may be left blank and are never inferred. The PDF and screen remain marked DRAFT ONLY. Save and reopen editable JSON drafts locally.

Shipment totals = sum entered handling units, pieces, and total gross commodity-line weights; every line uses the selected lb or kg basis

When this calculation helps

Use the draft to reconcile shipment parties, references, handling units, commodity descriptions, and total weights before transferring information into a carrier-approved process.

Check the interpretation

The output stays unsigned and marked as a draft. It does not supply carrier terms, dangerous-goods certification, a transport receipt, or an accepted contract. Confirm the billing party and actual loaded quantities with the responsible carrier before issue.

An unsigned preparation worksheet, not an issued BOL, carrier receipt, accepted transportation contract, or official carrier form. No signature, carrier terms, declared-value agreement, liability limit, customs declaration, dangerous-goods certification, or booking is generated. Hazardous shipments are blocked. Confirm carrier requirements before transferring the data to an approved form.

Good to know

Is this ready to sign or tender to a carrier?

No. It is visibly an unsigned draft for review and transfer to the carrier-approved form.

Can it prepare hazardous-material shipments?

No. That selection blocks output; use the appropriate carrier and dangerous-goods process.
