All billed rows are counted; none are automatically removed. Multiple lines may be valid splits or credits. Differences compare aggregate shipment/charge totals against the larger of the absolute or percentage tolerance. Missing contract and missing billing are separate review statuses, not proven overcharges or savings. Use one currency and comparable charge/tax boundaries. No carrier, payment system, or dispute service is contacted.

How the calculation works

Enter one contracted total per shipment/charge and separate invoice lines in the billing dataset. Identifiers match after trimming and uppercasing. Amounts use exact currency minor units (two decimals, or whole JPY); credits may be negative. Differences strictly beyond the larger tolerance are flagged in either direction. Repeated invoice/line IDs, extra identical rows, multiple billed lines, uncontracted charges, and unbilled contract entries have distinct review flags. All rows remain in totals and exports.

Difference = sum of all billed rows for a shipment/charge - contracted total. Allowed difference = max(absolute tolerance, absolute contracted amount x percentage tolerance).

When this calculation helps

Review matched charge differences separately from uncontracted billing and unbilled contract entries. A lower grand total can conceal an over-tolerance accessorial when another charge has not yet been invoiced.

Check the interpretation

Repeated invoice/line IDs and identical extra rows are questions for a reviewer, not proof of a duplicate. Keep credits and splits in the totals, verify the source import, and retain the contract version and service approval before pursuing an adjustment.

Review indicators only, not confirmed duplicate charges, recoverable savings, payment authorization, or an automatic carrier dispute. Splits, credits, contract amendments, taxes, and accessorial approvals can explain a difference. Use a single currency and the same scope in both datasets. Each CSV is limited to 512 KB and 1,000 rows. Tolerances support two decimal places; JPY absolute tolerance uses whole units.

Good to know

Are duplicates removed?

No. Every entered billed row remains in the totals. Repeated invoice/line IDs and identical extra rows are flags for human review, not proof that a charge is invalid.

Can positive and negative differences cancel?

The matched net difference is shown separately from positive and negative discrepancies beyond tolerance. Uncontracted and unbilled items are separate, so a net total cannot hide those review statuses.
