Estimate annual cycle counts and a rounded daily count target from records in each class and your chosen count frequencies.
A daily capacity target is not a dated schedule. Count records consistently and include recount effort separately.
A countable record is one SKU-location-lot balance, or another consistently defined counting unit. Multiply the number of records in each ABC class by its entered annual frequency, sum the workload, and spread it over working count days. The daily target rounds up for capacity planning; it can provide more annual capacity than the exact schedule requires.
Allocate an entered counting frequency to each item group, then compare the annual count workload with available count days. This exposes whether the intended policy fits the resources assigned.
ABC value classes alone do not capture transaction risk or critical stock. Include recounts, investigation, travel, and system corrections when planning practical labor. A scheduled count is not evidence that the discrepancy was resolved.
Example class frequencies are not mandatory standards. This is a workload estimate, not a dated count schedule or audit policy. Recounts, travel, investigations, and approval work must be included in average minutes or planned separately.
Oracle cycle count creation and schedulingUse the unit you actually count. A SKU in ten separately counted locations can require ten records, not one. Use the same record definition for all classes.
