The item crossing a cutoff stays in that class. Equal-value items retain CSV order; zero-value items are C. This is a value-based segmentation, not a risk score.

BEHIND THE NUMBER

How the calculation works

Each row represents one unique SKU. The tool ranks annual usage value from highest to lowest; the item crossing a cutoff stays in that class. Equal-value rows retain their CSV order, so tied boundary items can land in different classes. Zero-value rows are always C. Thresholds are editable planning choices, not universal standards. Use one currency and one annual period throughout.

Annual usage value = annual units × unit cost; rank descending and group by cumulative share of total value

When this calculation helps

ABC ranking identifies which entered SKUs account for most annual usage value. It can focus review effort without imposing the same attention on every low-value item.

Check the interpretation

An item crossing a cumulative boundary remains in the class specified by the model. Equal-value ties retain source order, so boundary labels can change when rows are reordered. Add criticality and supply-risk information before turning a value class into a stocking rule.

ABC value segmentation alone does not capture criticality, lead time, supply risk, or demand variability. CSV processing is local to your browser. Shared links exclude the dataset.

Good to know

Does the tool send my SKU data to the server?

No. File import, calculation, and export run in your browser. Copy tool link excludes the dataset. The optional calculation API processes only data you explicitly submit to it.

Which columns are required?

Use sku, annual_units, and unit_cost. Headers are case-insensitive, with spaces or hyphens normalized to underscores. Extra columns are ignored. Numbers must not contain currency symbols or thousands separators.
